Lightening Lane Single Pass and Multi Pass……yeah no more Genie Plus…. this can get very confusing. So let me break it down and try to make this as easy peasy as possible to help reduce your stress! As always reach out if you have any questions and I’ll answer to the best of my ability. Since this system is brand new, I’m sure we are going to see some changes and ill update this post as we go! Let’s jump in!
**As a refresher, Lightening Lane refers to the “skip the line” que at each attraction. So, not the regular line but the expedited line. **
The two options you now have are called Single Pass and Multi Pass
Single Pass
Single Pass refers to the rides that you must pay an extra amount to skip the line for that one attraction. These rides are the most popular rides in each park and this function works similar to how Genie Plus did previously. The rides you can pay individually for are list below and yes, each price is per person and you can only book the ride once daily. Also, prices will fluctuate by day and crowd levels.
Magic Kingdom:
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
TRON Lightcycle/Run
Hollywood Studios:
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
Epcot:
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic rewind
Animal Kingdom:
Avatar Flight of Passage
The newest feature is that you can modify your booking for these attractions to a later time or even to another Single Pass in a different park (if you have Park Hopper). It has been noted if you are switching to a ride that is more expensive you will have to pay the difference but if the cost is lower currently there are no refunds being given for the difference. This service is non-refundable!
Multi Pass
Multi Pass refers to all the other rides in the parks. The rides in the parks have been broken down into two tiers (much like the old Fast Pass system). You can choose 1 of the Tier 1 attractions and then 2 of the Tier 2 attractions (or all. From Tier 2) to get your day started. As soon as you have used your first Lightening Lane of the day, you can then continue to book more rides. The tiers for each park are listed below. Also, prices will fluctuate by day and crowd levels but it is a one lump sum to access the Lightening Lane for all the below attractions; yes, per person.
Magic Kingdom:
-Tier 1
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Jungle Cruise
Peter Pan’s Flight
Space Mountain
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

-Tier 2

Animal Kingdom:
Animal Kingdom will not have a Tier 1 or 2 but just a general list of rides. So, all the rides in this park or considered “comparable” to each other.
Those rides include:
Expedition Everest- Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
DINOSAUR
Feathered Friends in Flight!
Festival Nemo: The Big Blue and Beyond
It’s Tough to be a Bug
Kali River Rapids
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Navi River Journey
You can modify these rides as well for different times or even switch them out for different attractions that are available. You will also be able to see all of the rides available for you to choose before you pay for the system. This is a big from the Genie Plus service. This is a non-refundable service, so being able to make sure the rides you are after are available is great!
Important Extra Notes!
- If you at any time end up with a redemption pass for any of the rides you had booked, the system will advise you on what attraction is considered “comparable” that you can use it for.
- Experiences that no longer have Lightening Lanes are character experiences and parade viewings.
- If you are a Disney Resort guest, you can book your Single or Multi Pass options 7 days in advance of day 1 of your stay.
- If you are not a Disney Resort guest, you can book your Single or Multi Pass options 3 days in advance of day 1 of your stay.
- You will have access to ride photos and photo lenses for the day that you purchase the Multi Pass experience.
- You still need to make sure, if you are booking Single or Multi Pass for multiple people in your party, you have them selected when you start choosing rides.
- The system only gives you 5 minutes to complete the purchase so make sure you have an initial plan going into it!
- Currently, international guests cannot book Single or Multi Pass options in advance (unless you are located in Canada). As soon as your phone has registered it is in the U.S. you will be able to book.
- If you have Park Hopper you can book for multiple parks in 1 day.
- You can always have 3 booked at a time, and there is no limit to how many you can have in 1 day, but you can only book them once in a day. i.e., if you use the system to ride Haunted Mansion, the only way to ride a second time in the same day, is to use the stand-by line.
Hopefully this post helps ease some of the worry and tension about this new system! I have my fingers crossed that since they used some of the best features from the previous Fast Pass and Genie Plus systems that this will be the best version yet!
