Disney World’s Magic Kingdom has it all! Nostalgia, rides, parades, shows, shopping and more. Sometimes it can be overwhelming with how much is offered. So today, I am going to break down all the rides to help make it easier for you to navigate when planning your top must do’s! Let’s get into all of the Magic Kingdom rides at Walt Disney World!
**Magic Kingdom rides with height requirements will be at the top of the list**
Seven Dwarf’s Mine Train
This ride has a 38-inch height requirement and has elements of fast and slow-paced sections for both thrill and incredible visual elements. The seats on this one swing side to side giving this coaster a unique ride element to match the unique visual element when the ride slows and you go through the mine as the dwarfs serenade you as you look at beautiful shiny gems! This is one of the newest Magic Kingdom rides. *This ride gets up to 35 mph*(Located in Fantasyland)
Space Mountain
A classic Magic Kingdom ride! This ride has a 44-inch height requirement. Some elements of this ride may not be suitable for everyone as it is all in doors and the ride itself is pretty dark and does not allow for much visual ability (you never knew which way your rocket is about to turn, which is trilling for some and terrifying for others!) Just make sure if you take your kiddo on this ride they are prepared in advance since it is not only dark but the seats are bobsled style so they will be riding by themselves. *This ride gets up to 28 mph* (Located in Tomorrowland)
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
This ride it the “Wildest Ride In Then Wilderness” so if you have hats or glasses “You’d Best Remove Em.” This is a true family coaster with a 40-inch height requirement that is both thrilling and entertaining. The scene with the dynamite can be very loud because of the train getting pulled up the hill by the lift but overall, this is a great ride. As an adult, when I ride by myself, I do get “whipped around” a little so just make sure to hold into your littles for this one if they are indeed little! * This ride gets up to 36 mph* (Located in Frontierland)
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
This ride has a 40-inch height requirement. Come on over and take a ride down the bayou to help Tiana find the perfect band and then drop into the party! This ride replaced Splash Mountain and although the track layout is essentially the same ride, this is a true adventure! Currently Disney is doing a virtual due for this ride since it is a new opening attraction but hopefully it will move to stand by soon! This is the newest Magic Kingdom Ride.
The Barnstormer🌪️
This coaster has a 35-inch height requirement and is a true starter coaster. The ride itself is short, sweet, and simple which is perfect for any little giving it a go for the first time! Parents I highly recommend letting your kids try this coaster before putting them on one of the other coasters listed above just so they can “get their feet wet”! * This ride gets up to 25 mph* (Located in Storybook Circus)
Tron Lightcycle / Run
With a 48- inch height requirement, Tron is one of the newest Disney coasters. This ride takes you both indoor and outdoor as you zoom on your lightcycle. The seats for this ride are not suitable for all rides as it has you laying somewhat on your stomach. It is recommended to try the test seat out front before getting into the que. If the standard seat does not work for you Disney does have one of the train cars with a standard seat to accommodate riders with different riding preferences or abilities! *This ride gets up to 60 mph* (Located in Tomorrowland)
Tomorrowland Speedway
The speedway has two separate height requirements. The first being 52- inches to drive the car and the second being 38- inches to ride in the car. The littles seem to really love this ride since they can “drive a car”, but if you’re an adult without a little, I don’t know if it’s worth the time. The main downfall to this ride is that as soon as you get close, all you can smell is the gasoline from the cars. Disneyland is wanting to switch all of their cars to all electric and the next few years but nothing has been said about doing the same for Disney World. (Located in Tomorrowland)
Haunted Mansion
This ride is a cult classic with no height requirement that everyone seems to love! Beyond the stretching room there are 999 happy haunts waiting to meet you! While this ride might be very popular it is not for everybody. The ambience and lighting are dark with spooky themes. Riders beware as there is always a hitchhiking ghost ready to come home with you! Prepare your little for this ride so they won’t be scared. (Located in Liberty Square)
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Are you ready to try to defeat Zurg? Once you board your spaceship you are transported through space with a blaster as you shoot it aliens and other objects collecting points trying to be the best space ranger in the galaxy! Just make sure you get enough practice with your aim before you reach Zurg’s room! This Magic Kingdom ride is fun for all ages and adds a great element of gaming! Plus, everyone can ride because there is no height requirement. (Located in Tomorrowland)
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
This ride is fun for all ages with no height requirement. You get to bounce around with Tigger and hang out with some Heffalumps and Woozles. You will go through the story of Winnie the Pooh and his friends from the hundred-acre wood while riding in a honeypot! This ride is absolutely adorable! (Located in Fantasyland)
Jungle Cruise
This ride is a wonderful boat ride through the jungle where you will see several different animatronic animals. Let’s not forget about the skipper’s great sense of humor and being able to see the eighth wonder of the world “THE BACKSIDE OF WATER”!! This ride really is a joy and the only scene that may worry any little ones is the scene with the tunnel because it is kind of dark, but it is a short scene and they should be fine! This ride has no height requirement so perfect for the whole family. (Located in Adventureland)
“It’s a Small World”
I feel like this ride is another Magic Kingdom ride cult classic for sure and with no height requirement, this is one for the whole family! Of course, you have the people that love this ride’s song and people that just can’t stand the thought or enduring it for 11 minutes straight! Yes, you read that correctly 11 minutes!! Whichever side of the equation you are on this ride is a classic Disney dark ride just while you are on a boat! It is fun for the whole family. Just make sure your kiddos don’t drive you nuts with the song afterward! (Located in Fantasyland)
Mad Tea Party
This Magic Kingdom ride has no height requirement, but does have a requirement for how many times you can spin without getting sick! This is the classic table top carnival ride spinner attraction. When I was a kid, I loved this ride and my favorite part was to see how fast I could spin my dad and my sister (my mother, wouldn’t dare on this ride) and now that I am an adult I understand why. Mad Tea party at your own risk! (Located in Fantasyland)
Peter Pan’s Flight
This is one of the most magical rides in all of the Magic Kingdom. If you asked me, my only complaint would be it is too short! That being said, is one of the most popular rides in the park to this day. You board a magic flying pirate ship and float over Neverland as the story of Peter Pan plays out below. You even get to see Captain Hook almost get swallowed up by Tick Tock crock! This ride has no height requirement and is definitely one to take the whole family on! (Located in Fantasyland)
Pirates of the Caribbean
Another Disney cult classic with no height requirements and immense popularity! In this ride, you board your very own pirate ship and sail the waters through the towns looking for Captain Jack sparrow! Meeting some interesting characters along the way, and even some fine fellows trying to bribe a dog for the key to their cell! This ride does have a small drop at the beginning and does have some very dark points which may be unsettling for some. Overall, I wouldn’t miss this ride! (Located in Adventureland)
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
This is overall one of my favorite Disney World’s Magic Kingdom rides! You board the world famous PeopleMover and take a relaxing scenic trip through Tomorrowland. You will go inside the Galactic star trader store as well as inside space mountain! This is one of my favorite things to do and with no height requirement, the whole family can ride together! So hop aboard the PeopleMover and take a trip around Tomorrowland and experience the future! (Located in Tomorrowland)
Under the Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid
This ride is the epitome of a classic Disney dark ride. You bored a clamshell and ride through the story of The Little Mermaid being guided by one of the best soundtracks of any Disney film. Dance your way through “Under the Sea” and sing your way through “Kiss the Girl.” Also, if you’re anything like me, you will much appreciate the Ursula animatronic in this ride as she’s pretty impressive (I also prefer Ursula’s song “Poor Unfortunate Souls,” but you’re not supposed to “like” the villain!!) With no height requirement and a decently roomy clamshell, be sure to take the whole family! (Located in Fantasyland)
Prince Charming Regal Carousel
A classic ride for the ages! Take a ride on Prince Charming’s Regal Carousel, fun for the whole family and with so many different horses to choose from the whole family gets a chance to pick their favorite; no height requirement!(Located in Fantasyland)
Walt Disney World Railroad
All aboard the Walt Disney World Railroad for a relaxing trip around the park! No height requirement means everyone can ride together and this train has three different depots for you to board and depart! You don’t want to miss out on this classic form of transportation! (Located on Main Street USA, in Frontierland, and in Fantasyland)
Dumbo the Flying Elephant/Astro Orbiter/The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
I have grouped all three of these rides together since they are essentially the same experience just with different theming. On Dumbo you fly on the adorable elephant we all know in love with the biggest cutest ears, the magic carpet you get to experience a whole New World, and on Astro Orbiter you get to fly in a pretty cool rocket! Each of these are your standard spinner attraction with no height requirement. However, they are all located in different lands. Dumbo is located in Fantasyland. The magic carpets are located in Adventureland. Astro Orbiter is located in Tomorrowland. (Located in Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Tomorrowland)
Liberty Square Riverboat
Take a ride on the Liberty Belle! This beautiful classic steam ship takes you on a tour around the Rivers of America to see what life was like previous to how it is now. Overall, it is a beautiful and scenic adventure minus the fact that there is not enough seating and it can get kind of hot sometimes. Overall, this is something that the whole family can do, but not something I personally do every time I’m in the park. If you have never done it, I recommend giving it a try! (Located in Liberty square)
